Abstract

Recently, the global energy sector is linked to low carbon environmental policies and efficient use of energy with the development of new technologies. Distributed generation and energy storage systems (ESS) have gained relevance and they have integrated into the grid. This paper proposes a heuristic to placement EES associated with distributed generation in georeferenced power distribution system; The major contribution and objective of the study is based on the use of grid’s intrinsic characteristics such as: distances, geolocation of users and candidate sites to install EES that allow minimizing voltage drops and power losses. The optimization problem is solved using the Brute Force algorithms and is validated in a scenario of Pamplona city, Spain. Additionally, the different SAE technologies and technical advantages that are provided to the electric networks are detailed; as well as different methods related to the sizing and placement of these systems.
